The goal of this project to conduct field studies to support the parameterization, validation, and verification of Integrated Ecosystem Models using established and ongoing field investigations of vegetation succession, soil C & N storage and fluxes, climate, and permafrost characteristics in the Yukon River Basin (YRB) and the Alaska Peatland Experiment (APEX)
The amount of methane released in bogs appears highly correlated with vegetation.
Our FOSSY project has continued much of this work.
